Of speciel interest for me is the mention of The Who's concert in Ålborg 26.09.1965. By this time I played the leadguitar in the local band The Strangers, which also played in the concert in mention (in the add mentioned as "Det Nye" Chris Bennet and The Strangers). The review in the local paper afterwards is partly correct. Because of the trouble with The Who's gear in Aarhus earlier that night, they arrived in Ålborg without anything to play on. They therefor had to use our gear, which they found "good enough" (Vox amps, Fender guitars and Ludwig drums). Gear which at that time was some of the best in the busines. Only one thing was't busines as usual: the way the instruments was treated. Roger Daltrey ruined a microphone by slinging it around in the cord, hitting the floor several times. Keith Moon ruined the bassdrum, the hi-hat and a cymbal by kicking them down from the drumplatform. Pete Townshend ruined my guitar by playing it with a bottle. But still - we enjoyed the concert, even if it was a bit overwhelming - and Bendix Music compensated for the damages.
