On the 30th May 1966 the Who played a double header with the Kinks as a part of a Festival Bill at Sincil Bank the home of Lincoln City FC. Incidently Pete Townshend didn't play the gig due to being involved in a car accident at a place called Caenby Corner (just outside Lincoln) and a roadie stood in for him. I have a copy of the programme and here is a full list of acts that appeared that day: The Brother-hud, The Children, The Creation (First Ever gig), The Dimples, Jimmy Savile, Georgie Fame and the Blue Flames, Jimmy Savile, The Small Faces, Jimmy Savile, The Barron Knights, Jimmy Savile, Crispian St Peters, Jimmy Savile, Screamin' Lord Such, Keith Fordyce, Dave Dee Dozy Beaky Mick and Tich, Ray Northrop, The Ivy League, Keith Fordyce, The Koobas, Ray Northrop, She Trinity, Keith Fordyce, The Yardbirds, the Alan Price set, Keith Fordyce, The Kinks, Keith Fordyce, The Who, Finale. Each group played between 30 and 40 minutes; the even started at 1200 Noon and concluded at about 10.45pm.
