Fanreports
Graham Kennedy
This "secret" gig was one of those used to experiment with the then Lifehouse album. Well I was at the show and here is the information to fill in the gaps:
Location: Caird Hall Dundee 2500 capacity FULL
Date: 23 May 1971
Support Band: The Poets (later became pop band Blue)
Lightshow : lots of coloured lamps hanging off gantries either side of the stage.
Sound : Very loud but very clear. Prerecorded backing tapes of Synthesisers on Won't Get Fooled Again.
Set list apart from opener may not be in correct order or complete: Love Ain't For Keepin', Pure and Easy, Time Is Passing, Bargain, Too Much of Anything, I Don't Even Know Myself, Water, Gettin In Time Blues (Gettin In Tune), Pinball Wizard, See Me Feel Me/Listen To You, My Generation Blues, Magic Bus, Encore : Won't Get Fooled Again
After the show I was lucky to meet the band at their cars (Mini for Roger and Rolls Royce for Moonie, Pete and John - Dougal at the wheel)
I managed to get my copy of one of the leaflets out of the original Live At Leeds LP signed by the band.
I was lucky to catch the band again in 1979 at Edinburgh - but it was a very different and almost nervous band treading through the difficult times and aftermath of the loss of Keith in 1978.
