Note
Graham Warner sent this date. He wrote: "According to George Tremlett's 'The Who (Futura Publications 1975), The Who played Hull ABC (which was a big one-screen Cinema that occasionally put bands on - the Beatles had played there back in 1963 for a full week) on October 29, 1971. This would have been in between Newcastle the night before and Manchester the day after - so geographically it would have been possible as Newcastle is 120 miles from Hull and Manchester is 100 miles away and all three cities are in the north of England. I recall seeing posters advertising this (I was only 11 at the time) and I am told that The Sensational Alex Harvey Band supported. And I know of one person who claims to have been there. So it is likely that this gig happened."
Fanreports

The support band were Quiver (prior to their joining up with the Sutherland Brothers). The set started with I Can't Explain. While we were taking our seats the soundsystem played over (by of soundcheck I guess) the moog/tape part of Baba O'Riley. It was possibly the loudest thing I'd ever heard. It was my first gig. Cost of ticket: 50p. My brother got a better seat by paying 75p.
