Two additions to The Who Concert Guide Online. I attended both shows on December 4th & 5th, 1971 at the Denver Coliseum. (Mylon & Holy Smoke was the backup band; they were terrible.) The set list both nights was: I Can't Explain; Substitute; Summertime Blues; My Wife; Baba O'Riley; Bargain (killer version with two separate long guitar solos); Behind Blue Eyes; Won't Get Fooled Again; Baby Don't You Do It; Magic Bus (another awesome performance); Overture from Tommy/It's a Boy; Amazing Journey/Sparks; Pinball Wizard; See Me, Feel Me; My Generation; Naked Eye. They may have played Tattoo the second night (December 5th); I had never heard the song before and was an embryonic Who fan. These were the two most incredible concerts I have ever seen.

I remember vividly that There was an accident on interstate 80 in Wyoming and the Who's equipment was damaged so they borrowed another groups equipment ( I think it might have been Grand Funk Railroad's or possibly Deep Purple's). While doing the "Windmill" Peter caught a fingernail and quickly stuck his hand into a cup that was on a speaker behind him. My seat was just above the stage stairs in back. When they were leaving the stage Keith was the first to the stairs and he grabbed the handrail with his right hand and was very lucky to hang on tight as he swung out some 9 feet over the coliseum floor. The other two were quickly there to grab his arm and pull him back onto the stage. He missed the stairs because they were on the opposite side of the handrail and it was dark back there. Interestingly enough it was the same week that Frank Sinatra fell from a stage and I think he broke something. I looked and looked while writing this and I cannot find anything about him falling off the stage. Oh well.
