James Layton remembers that night. "The Who opened for the Association, who of course had a hard time following. I remember the usual songs, the dandy clothes, the drums/guitars violence, and the sound system that was totally inadequate."
I was 15 when I first saw my first concert, and it was the Who. I knew something was happening, but I was too young to know exactly what it was. The Who was so powerful and so dramatic, that I felt exhausted when they were done. And then, unfortunately for them, the Association was up next. Most people left after just a few of their songs. I have loved the Who ever since.
