Great Show! Quadrophenia lasted over an hour and 45 minutes, while old hits made the last half hour. Simon Townshend is great, while Zak Starkey (Ringo's son) plays as if he wanted us to forget Keith Moon (who, back in the old days gave young Zak his first drum kit!). Roger is in such a great shape that he steels the show. Pete played a fantastic Drowned, while I'll never forget John's incredible bass solo in 5:15. Hope they'll be back soon! Who plays the young mod?

Yes, that's exactly what they played, with some Pinball Wizard chords in WGFA. At the end there was the usual hugging and mugging, and Pete made movements suggestive of wrecking his guitar, but rather just gave it a good shaking. Despite his genius and ostensible good nature, he has such a strong aura of of barely-veneered wildness. I read the Montreal Gazette newspaper review, and I think the reviewer's sky is of a different colour. The band was at its best tonight. Pete's musical genius and talent shone. John's virtuoso solo was incredible. Roger's energy and performance was great, although his voice was a little stressed at times. The Quadrophenia portion was well-received and well-done, but I know I was waiting for those final forty minutes. Zak was fantastic, and although I miss Keith's drumstick twirls and tosses, I felt that Zak was able to live up to his predecessor's talents. Simon was also excellent. It seems that musical talent is runs in both familites! The audience was an incredible mix of teenagers to 60, French and English. This is my fourth Who concert, and my only disappointment was that they did not come out for a second encore. A Who neophyte accompanied me, and said that this was the best concert he had ever experienced in his life.
