The Who Concert Guide

The Who brought the BBC Electric Proms to a theatrical close tonight (October 29) at the Camden Roundhouse.

The rock veterans rolled off a blistering 75-minute set laden with hits from their back catalogue and tracks ftom their recent mini-opera EP 'Wire & Glass' for the final night of the four-day festival.

The band also threw in a host of new songs from their new album 'Endless Wire', their first since 'It's Hard' nearly 25 years ago.

Kicking off the show with 'I Can't Explain' both singer Roger Daltrey and guitarist Pete Townshend, who arrived onstage dressed in a green and white striped bandana, were in jovial form.

Commenting on the venue's recent £29.7 million facelift Townshend quipped: "Last time I played here it was dirty. Now its clean and I'm dirty."

The Who then rolled through their short mini-opera, based on the 'The Glass Household', Townshend's story of a young band who try to revive the lost visions and ambitions of an ageing rock star.

The rock veterans later thrilled the crowd with an extended version of classic hit 'My Generation' and 'Pinball Wizard' before the show ended with Daltrey and Townshend peforming an acoustic rendition of new album closer 'Tea & Theatre'.
