Pete Townshend: "This one of a series of really very strange songs I wrote in the summer of 1966. Others were KING RABBIT (that features below), HAPPY JACK, the six little songs that were squashed up to make up A QUICK ONE (the Who's mini-opera on their second album A QUICK ONE WHILE HE'S AWAY). I intended to create complete vignettes in each case, possibly including short films. Around this time, for the same series, I also wrote a song I have somewhat come to regret - called THOSE BALD BOYS. All the songs were meant to be satirical in some way. However, satire rather depends on the target being evident. These characters are vague, poorly defined, and really would have come to life in a big way had I managed to make films about them, or even simply drawm them - John Entwistle style. Never had the time."
