Adrian Stambach corrected the date: "The Who played the Majestic Ballroom in Luton on Thursday 20th August not the 21st, I know this because my band supported them and I logged it in my diary for that year." I corrected the date.

Our band was called "The Clique", as with "The Who" we were under the agency management of Bob Druce at the time. We arrived late for the gig, which was a ballroom called "The Majestic" in Luton, a little late and as The Who had already set up their gear on stage, we had to plug into theirs, which was a lot better than ours! Two or three "Box Brownie" pics were taken by some friends of ours but only of us and not The Who (sadly). The date was Thursday 20th of August 1964 and yes we were the support act.
